Dagmar Rinnenburger

Received her medical degree from the University of Freiburg in Germany. Specialized in Pneumology and Allergology. Before moving to Italy in 1991, she worked at the Black Forest Clinic (a highly specialized cardiological and pneumological rehabilitation hospital) and at the Hemer Hospital (Germany), a hospital specialized in oncological pneumology and infectious pneumology. In Italy she worked until 2003 at the Fondazione S. Lucia, Scientific Institute of Neurorehabilitation in Rome. Since 2003 she has been working at the STIRS department (therapy service for decompensated respiratory failure) of the S. Camillo – Forlanini hospital. She deals in particular with problems in the treatment of chronic conditions such as asthma, including childhood asthma, and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

In her publications she has particularly taken care of the aspect of chronic diseases and educational therapy (e.g. “L’educazione terapeutica nell’asma bronchiale”, Critical Medicine Publishing, 2002, p. 100) and end-of-life decisions in respiratory failure (see Janus Notebooks Decidere in medicina: Pattinando insieme sul ghiaccio, Zadigroma, ottobre 2007). In 2019 her book La cronicità was published by Zadig, and translated by Springer in 2021 with the title Cronicity.
