Sociologist and essayist. He has been a professor in different universities, in Europe and Latin America, counselor of Italian ministers, and director of many think tanks. He is the president of ARCO – Institute for Comparative and Interdisciplinary Research. His research interests include the metamorphosis of European society in our era.
